These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Shortsy.in and its URL shortening services.

By using Shortsy, you agree to these Terms.

1. About Shortsy

Shortsy is a free URL shortening service operated by Administrator Shortsy.in (“Shortsy”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

Shortsy allows users to create shortened links that redirect visitors to external destination URLs.

Some optional features, such as link management and basic click statistics, may be available through secure email-based access.

2. Eligibility

You may use Shortsy only if you are legally permitted to do so under the laws applicable to you.

If you use Shortsy on behalf of a company, organization, or other entity, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf.

3. Free Service

Shortsy is currently provided free of charge.

We do not guarantee that all features will always remain available, unchanged, or free in the future.

We may introduce, modify, limit, or discontinue features at any time.

4. Acceptable Use

You may not use Shortsy to create, distribute, promote, conceal, or redirect to content involving:

  • phishing;
  • malware or malicious software;
  • scams or fraud;
  • spam;
  • credential theft;
  • impersonation intended to deceive;
  • illegal goods or services;
  • unlawful content;
  • copyright-infringing content where you do not have the necessary rights;
  • threats, harassment, or abuse;
  • content intended to compromise another person's device, account, privacy, or security;
  • attempts to bypass platform, security, moderation, or anti-abuse systems.

You must not use Shortsy in any way that could damage, overload, disrupt, or interfere with the service or its infrastructure.

5. Automated Use and Abuse

You may not use bots, scripts, automated systems, or bulk tools to abuse the service, evade rate limits, generate excessive numbers of links, send unsolicited communications, or otherwise disrupt Shortsy.

We may use rate limiting, bot detection, CAPTCHA or similar security measures to protect the service.

6. Your Links and Content

You are responsible for:

  • the destination URLs you submit;
  • content available at those destinations;
  • ensuring that you have the right to share those URLs;
  • ensuring that your use of Shortsy complies with applicable law.

Shortsy does not endorse or control third-party websites reached through shortened links.

The creation of a Shortsy link does not transfer ownership of the destination content to Shortsy.

Some links may be managed through secure email-based access.

If you choose to enable link management, you are responsible for maintaining access to your email account and protecting any magic links or management sessions associated with your Shortsy link.

Anyone with valid management access may be able to:

  • view basic link statistics;
  • change the destination URL;
  • disable the link;
  • re-enable a user-disabled link.

Administrative blocks imposed by Shortsy cannot be overridden by the user.

We do not guarantee that any shortened URL will remain active permanently.

We may block, disable, restrict, or remove links where reasonably necessary, including when we believe a link:

  • violates these Terms;
  • may be illegal;
  • presents a security risk;
  • is associated with phishing, malware, scams, or spam;
  • causes technical problems;
  • creates a risk to users or the Shortsy service;
  • is subject to a valid legal or abuse request.

We may take action without prior notice where necessary to protect users or the service.

9. Abuse Reports

Users and third parties may report potentially abusive links.

We may review reports and take action at our discretion.

Submitting a report does not guarantee that a link will be removed or blocked.

False, abusive, or intentionally misleading reports are prohibited.

10. Shortened URLs

Shortsy generates shortened identifiers automatically.

You do not acquire ownership of a particular Shortsy slug, URL, or identifier merely because it was assigned to you.

Shortsy may reserve, block, change, or retire identifiers where necessary for security, technical, operational, or legal reasons.

11. Statistics

Shortsy may provide basic statistics such as total click count or the time of the most recent click.

Statistics are provided for informational purposes only.

We do not guarantee that statistics will be:

  • real-time;
  • complete;
  • error-free;
  • available permanently.

Automated traffic, bots, caching, network failures, privacy protections, or technical limitations may affect reported statistics.

12. Third-Party Websites

Shortened links may redirect to third-party websites that Shortsy does not own or control.

We are not responsible for:

  • third-party content;
  • products or services offered by third parties;
  • third-party privacy practices;
  • security of external websites;
  • transactions between users and third parties.

You access third-party websites at your own discretion.

13. Service Availability

Shortsy is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

The service may occasionally be unavailable because of:

  • maintenance;
  • technical problems;
  • infrastructure failures;
  • network disruptions;
  • security incidents;
  • events outside our reasonable control.

14. No Warranty

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Shortsy makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding:

  • uninterrupted availability;
  • permanent storage of links;
  • suitability for a particular purpose;
  • accuracy of statistics;
  • availability of any specific feature;
  • compatibility with third-party services.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Administrator Shortsy.in will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar losses arising from your use of or inability to use Shortsy.

This may include loss of:

You are responsible for maintaining your own records of important destination URLs.
